Most of our Year 10 and 11 students participated in the Canberra Tour. The Hostel was very centrally located, only about 3 to 5 kms away from most of the key sites.
The National Gallery was visited on Wednesday morning; the students enjoyed the location and were given a work sheet to complete in order to find particular art works.
A visit to the Zoo and Beijing Garden was enjoyed as a relaxing part of the trip, which included a traditional ‘Aussie BBQ’.
Next, The Old and New Parliaments were most relevant, as they are part of the Civics and Citizenship component of the year 10 and year 11 curriculum.
And finally, the National War Memorial fascinated many students, especially in part where there was reference to their home country. Overall a very enjoyable and educational trip was had by all.
