ELICOS Volunteer on Daffodil Day
Every year, thousands of Cancer Council volunteers hit the streets, shopping centres and train stations across the country on Daffodil Day to raise vital funds for cancer research. This is in support of the 1.1 million Australians who’ve been impacted by cancer. This year ELICOS students volunteered at three locations around the CBD selling merchandise to raise money for the charity.
Students practised different phrases for persuasion and a variety of sales techniques before heading out for their volunteer shift. What a great way to engage with the community and practise English.
Well done everyone who participated in the event.
