Counseling & Equities

Counselling

Students experiencing difficulties associated with health issues and personal matters are free to discuss such problems, firstly with their home group teacher and later with the Student Welfare Officer.

Welfare Officer

Our Welfare Officer organises an appointments diary for discussion of non-urgent matters. Otherwise matters will be attended to promptly. The Welfare Officer also has a referral list for students with psychological problems. The Welfare Officer will refer students to welfare counsellor for counselling issues.

Academic Counselling

Academic counselling is the responsibility of the Head of Department or VET Administrator who has extensive experience in teaching. Teachers with experience, skills and knowledge in the area of career counselling may be requested to take some of this role. Teachers are also responsible for alerting the Head of Deparment or VET Administrator of any problems with students relating to matters including the illegal consumption of alcohol, cigarettes or illegal drugs as these are prohibited at Ozford.

Access, Equity, Student Selection and Admission

Every student who meets the entry requirements is prescribed by the appropriate Training Package will be accepted into any training / assessment program. Ozford endorses the national equity strategy by in incorporating the principles of equity into all programs.
